January 20: Are you holding a grudge? About?
Nope, no grudges for me. As I get older, I’m realizing that, in most cases, holding a grudge is a waste of time. Tossing and turning at night, and marinating in resentment, only causes me stress and not the one I begrudge.
Carrying a grudge turns you into a negative and bitter person. And it holds you back. I’m not suggesting that you adopt a mai pen lai (never mind) mentality, but rather tackle the problem before it festers into a grudge. However, I do realize that some wrongs cannot and should not be forgiven. In those cases, stop holding a grudge, and get even….or move on. Keep in mind that getting even takes a lot of time and energy, if you want to do it right. So, why not invest that energy in making yourself a better you? In the end, that is the best revenge.
